The schedule for each day will be:

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Go on a scavenger hunt of the featured exhibition or artist and visit the other special exhibitions, permanent collection, and Family Learning Gallery.

1 to 4 p.m. Create your own masterpiece inspired by the artist or exhibition of the day in the drop-in hands-on workshop and read children's books that connect to the topic of the day.

Myths, Magic, and Mummified Fish – Michael C Carlos Museum
Friday – September 13 – Noon-3pm, $8, 5 and under – FREE

Tour the Egyptian galleries with docents, exploring mummies and coffins from several periods of Egyptian history, animal mummies, the tools and objects used in the mummification process, and images of the mummiform god of the underworld, Osiris.  View a video on the year-long process of conserving the Old Kingdom mummy, the oldest mummy in North America, as well as Reading Rainbow’s Mummies Made in Egypt.  Students will watch a demonstration and take home instructions on how to mummify a fish, just as the Egyptians did!
